Now that the 2020 season is behind us, the Class of 2023 has begun their preparation for their upcoming junior seasons. Truth be told, the prep never ended and has been a large part of each prospects life as they push to make a difference on the field and separate themselves from the pack.

One such prospect is Daemon Fagan of American Heritage High School (Plantation, FL). The 2023 Safety is a big reason for his team's success in 2020, completing a 5A Florida State Championship (W, 24-6 - Rickards) behind an 11-2 overall record. Holding down the defensive backfield, he is one that has the ability to shutdown three-quarters of the field with and excellent ability to read the quarterback. Additionally, he showcases tremendous quickness with great closing speed and even has the hands to turn pass breakups into interceptions.

As a sophomore, Fagan registered 5 interceptions with plenty of tackles to thwart opposing offenses from making much progress. In the end, his season was nothing short of great and top-tiered collegiate programs have taken notice of his abilities on the field.

FBS Scholarship Offers
As of April 20th, 2021

To date, Fagan has received 14 Division I FBS scholarship offers. Of those, power programs such as Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Oregon have already bought into Fagan as a great piece to build their programs with plenty more waiting to pull the trigger as his prep career advances. As for the process, Fagan is grateful for the opportunities to play at the next level and continues to build relationships with coaches while gathering as much information as possible before making a decision. And, when that time comes, it will ultimately coming down to just a few factors.

"(The) ultimate commitment, I would say, (is) a place that feels like home. A place I can compete for a starting job early, and draft potential."

With two seasons down and two more to go, Fagan has not looked beyond the present just yet. As he continues to train in order to maintain and build upon his successes as a sophomore, he wants to see last season's championship run turned into back-to-back championships in 2021. Many are vocal about how willing they are to put in the hard work during the off-season and their is no doubt Fagan is another willing to sacrifice his time to excel on the field. The results have proven his work ethic and the film does not lie.
